Report – Man Utd prepared to secure £43million signing – Ten Hag determined

Pau Torres and Sergio Ramos - Spain

Manchester United have been linked with Spanish international, Pau Torres, for quite some time and once again, the Villarreal star is in the focus.

Last month, MEN reported that the Red Devils have revived their interest in luring the La Liga star for the next campaign.

Transfer: Man Utd have submitted £33.7million offer to sign star – Report

More recently, yesterday, Marca reported that the Man Utd are prepared to secure the signing of Pau Torres by paying £43million (50 million euros).

The renowned Spanish news source have mentioned that the newly appointed manager, Ten Hag, is determined and wants to sign the 25-year-old no matter what happens.

In the recently concluded Premier League campaign, Man Utd were terrible at the back. They conceded 57 goals and ended the season with a goal difference of 0.

Captain, Harry Maguire, who is still the most expensive defender in the world, put in dreadful performances week in and week out and that is one of the main reasons why United suffered defensively.

On the other hand, Lindelof remained inconsistent and marquee signing, Raphael Varane, spent a lot of time on the treatment table. Therefore, the backline must be improved and Ten Hag needs a leader.

Torres, who has already earned 17 caps for Spain, was a key member of the Villarreal side that defeated Man United to win the Europa League last year.

In the La Liga (2021-22 season), he featured in 33 games and helped the Yellow Submarine keep 11 clean sheets. He also managed to score 5 goals in the competition. The La Roja star played a pivotal role in the UEFA Champions League as Emery’s men reached the semi-finals of the competition.

In your view, should Man Utd secure the signing of Pau Torres?
