Report – Man Utd ready to bid to sign £107million star

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd boss

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the past few days and the latest reports are intriguing.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Red Devils are ready to make a bid worth 75 million euros (£67million) to hire the services of the Lazio midfielder.

However, the renowned Italian source have stated that the Italian side’s initial demand is to get 120 million euros (£107million) for their prized asset. Furthermore, it is mentioned that club president, Lotito, is already looking at options to replace the former Genk player.

Transfer: Man United now clear to agree deal to sign £90million star

As far as Manchester United’s midfield is concerned, Ander Herrera has already left the club and moved to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Veteran defensive midfielder, Matic, was inconsistent in the last campaign and as per ESPN, the Serbian international is seeking talks about his future with Solskajer knowing that the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in luring him.

On the other hand, record signing Paul Pogba is also linked with a move away from Old Trafford with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus after him (Calcio Mercato).

Not to forget, last summer’s signing Fred has not lived up to his price tag as yet and McTominay only played a handful of games last season.

Therefore, the situation in the center of the park does not look stable. Solskjaer should hold on to his key players and at the same time, he must splash the cash to improve the department’s quality and depth as well.

In your view, who should the Norwegian manager sign to strengthen his midfield in the summer transfer window?

  1. Sell Pogba. Buy Milinkovic-Savic. Keep McTominay & Pereira. Keep Fred & Matic for now until something else good becomes available on the market.

  2. you people cannot get it through your heads, solksjaar does not controle the purse strings, ed woodward does, that is why it takes united forever to get a deal done, woodward is a banker not a football person and he will not give the go ahead if it is not commercially viable, he is not interested in on field issues he is only interested in the commercial side of the club, i.e. making money for the owners,, solksjaar will go the same way as moyes, van gaal , and mourinho, the woodwards of the world always have a scape goat in place in case things go arse up, i have believed this ever since david gill retired when ferguson new that he had to work with woodward he decided no i have paperd over the cracks, enough is enough, and nothing will change united are in a downward spiral and will be as long ass these people are running the club, what i cant understand is the likes of charlton and ferguson as board members working alongside these maggots, or are they only there for the money

  3. let pogba go for others to shine, I think Bruno Fernades can do better than him.

  4. They should let pogba go if he’s not happy and insistent that he wants to leave sell him, and buy someone who is better suited. Why buy him back in the first place fergie sold him for a reason his heart wasn’t in the club

  5. No one is better or higher than the club. Allow Pogba to go so that he’ll no longer corrupt or negatively influence other squad members. United is a strong and powerful team with members who’re happily showcasing their talents and skills, as well relates in the atmosphere of love, care, team spirit. Sell Pogba and you’ll see the best of the likes of Sanchez, Fred, McTominay.

  6. United are bigger than any player. And it’s gone crazy how some players seem to control the situation. Make a statement . Let Pogba rot in the reserves for a year then sell him.

  7. I agree with making a solid statement that united can not be bullied to sell. Keep Pogba in the bench for a year let him play in the league cups so he can still showcase his arrogance for a sell on, buy Bruno Fernandes and Sean lonstaff and sell pogba next summer. I can drive lukaku to whereever he decides to go myself for free. Keep sanchez for a year and hope things turn around. Things will change for the better

  8. I no longer believe that they have interest in many of the names they’re linked with. This is just a ruse to get the season tickets sold.
So far we’ve put our hopes on an 18 & 19 year old with less than 50 top flight games between them. Pogba and Lukaku both want out and in truth they only give you six great performances per season. I’d take that from bale in a swap deal that would suit both players and will free up enough cash to secure McGuire who was the second best defender last year.

  9. Ed Woodward should make an acception of letting Solkjaer buy the services of playmaker, Hirving Lozano. Players with a passion for Man Utd are needed, not fallen stars and not players who are there for a paycheck. This is not something they would regret like Alexis Sanchez. Besides buying top players, Man Utd must play attacking football, not a game of possession. It’s about the goal and the quality of football, not showcasing on how expensive their players are.
