The Spanish international is highly admired by the Red Devils and they look to beat Spurs, who have agreed terms with the player.
As per today’s version of The Daily Mail, it is the “End of the road for De Gea” and Man Utd are targeting several shot stoppers, one of them is Raya, who is valued at around £40million.
The 27-year-old, who has made two appearances for Spain so far, was selected over De Gea in the La Roja’s World Cup squad.
His current contract with the Bees will expire next year and manager, Thomas Franck, has already revealed that he could leave this summer.
Raya featured in all 38 games in the Premier League last season, conceded 46 goals and kept no fewer than 12 clean sheets.
On the other hand, De Gea kept 17 clean sheets for Man Utd and deservedly won the Golden Glove award, his second in the PL.
The former Atletico Madrid player has been a loyal servant at Old Trafford for more than a decade but perhaps it is time to say goodbye and sign a new goalie.
In your view, is David Raya good enough to replace De Gea?
