Man Utd have rejected the chance to sign Joao Neves and are now ready to secure Manuel Ugarte to reinforce the DM position.
Earlier this month, we covered a story via Record claiming that Benfica turned down an offer worth 70 million euros from United for the midfield destroyer.

As per today’s edition of O Jogo, the Red Devils have followed Neves for the longest time but due to high demands, they have not turned the attention to Manuel Ugarte.
The news source state:
“Instead of signing a check or facilitating a bank transfer of close to 100 million euros (£84.5m for Neves), they turned to Manuel Ugarte”
It is stated that Man Utd have already moved in with an offer worth 45 million euros plus objectives for the Uruguayan international.
PSG have also been keen on Joao Neves and the sale of Ugarte to Man Utd would help them attain funds to lure the Portuguese.
However, O Jogo claim that even the French champions have so far not shown willingness to meet the asking price of £84.5m.
For the sale of Ugarte, according to Le10Sport, the Ligue 1 giants would ideally like to recoup the fee of £50.7m (60 million euros) paid to hire the services of the play breaker from Sporting CP.
The South American will likely start against Colombia in the second semi final of the Copa America, scheduled in a few hours.
Man Utd need a solid destroyer in front of the backline for the next campaign. Do you think ending interest in Neves for Ugarte is the right decision?
