Report – Man United will submit bid to sign £20.6million creative player – Face competition

Manchester United have confirmed that Serbian international, Nemanja Matic, will leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

Therefore, the Red Devils desperately need to sign a central midfielder in the summer transfer window and they have been heavily linked with River Plate starlet, Enzo Fernandez.

According to an exclusive story covered by Sports Illustrated, Man Utd will submit a bid to sign the Argentine player, who has been in top form in the current campaign, but they face competition from the Sky Blues.

The news source have mentioned that Man City, who have already agreed a deal to sign Julian Alvarez from the South American side, will also move in with an offer to lure the 21-year-old creative player this summer.

This season, so far, Fernandez has started 9 games in the league and directly contributed in 6 goals (3 goals and 3 assists).

In the last league game, he scored a goal and provided an assist to help River Plate earn all three points against Argentinos Jrs. Moreover, two days back, he scored a goal in the 2-0 victory over Fortaleza in the Copa Libertadores.

His current deal will expire in 2025, as per reports, the release clause is 25 million euros (£20.6million) and he will only leave the club if it is activated.
