Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are linked with several midfielders and the latest name in the lime light is that of Federico Valverde.

According to Sport, Manchester United are interested in signing the Uruguayan international, who is one of the priorities for manager Solskjaer.

Transfer: Star could agree £400,000-a-week terms to sign for Manchester United

The famous Spanish outlet have mentioned that Real Madrid want to keep their prized asset and have warned that the 21-year-old will only leave if the £447million release clause in his contract is activated.

At the Bernabeu, the likes of Casemiro, Kroos and Modric have regularly started in the center of the park and therefore, all other midfielders have mostly warmed the bench.

Modric will turn 35 this year and Kroos turned 30 in January, so, Zidane is already preparing for the future and Valverde has stepped up big time for the Los Blancos this term.

The center midfielder has managed to earn himself 14 league starts this term and overall, in all competitions, he has made 32 appearances thus far, scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists for the 13-time European Champions.

In the Spanish Supercopa final vs Atletico Madrod, the South American starlet was awarded the Man of the Match award, particularly for sacrificing himself for the team. He brought Morata down in the 115th minute and Real ended up winning the contest on penalties.

He made his senior international debut back in 2017 when he was just 19. and so far, he has played 20 games for Uruguay and scored 2 goals.

Solskjaer obviously needs to strengthen midfield department after failing to do the same since becoming the manager. In your view, should Manchester United activate Federico Valverde’s £447million clause to get his signing done?
