Having reached somewhat of an impasse, it appears that here been movement in the David De Gea/Sergio Ramos saga.
With Real Madrid wanting De Gea, United were reportedly adamant that no deal would take place for the 24 year old with Sergio Ramos being part of the transfer.
United themselves aggressively pursued Ramos, upon hearing that he was unhappy after 10 years at the Bernabeu but Real, like United, stood firm in their stance that he wasn’t for sale.
Things went quiet when both players set off with their respective teams for pre season but Spanish paper El Pais are reporting that there has been a change tonight.
With both players up for moving, the paper claim United have submitted a new €60m bid for Ramos and Real are seriously considering letting the defender go given that the relationship with the 29 year old is irreparable.
Some are even claiming the new deal has prompted Ramos to hand in a transfer request but such claims are unverified.
With Real determined to get De Gea, they appear to have softened their stance on Ramos given the impact the saga is having on the club. El Pais report that the fans will not forgive him for wanting to leave and that he is becoming a source of tension at the club.
Will United finally get their man?
I hope they don’t finally get their man. He’s a red card magnet and I would much rather have Otamendi. By the way, you need to change your cover photo. Falcao has gone, van Persie has gone, De Gea is going and Di Maria is going, (thankfully!) and, with a bit of luck, Rooney will clear off in the not too distant future.
