Attacker Breaks Silence on Star Player Return Following Belgium Triumph

Romelu Lukaku

Belgium international Romelu Lukaku spoke highly about Zlatan Ibrahimovic following the Swede’s return to Old Trafford earlier last month. The 35-year-old rejoined the Red Devils on a one-year deal after he made a good recovery from a knee injury – sustained earlier in April.

Lukaku has made a bright start to his United career with four goals in as many games, and he continued his good form with Belgium last night, scoring a hat-trick in the 9-0 triumph over Gibraltar in a World Cup qualifier.

Facing reporters following the game, Lukaku spoke succinctly about Zlatan, who he knew would return to Manchester during the current season. He added that the veteran provides an added boost to their title credentials and the players will seek to help Zlatan realise his ambition of lifting the Premier League crown.

“I already knew for a while that Zlatan would sign but I didn’t tell anyone,” Lukaku told reporters in Liege. “I’m happy. We need his personality. I think Zlatan will bring us a lot. I think he has one mission, and that is to win the Premier League, and we’re going to help him reach his goal.”

Manchester United are atop of the tree with nine points from the opening three games, and Lukaku and Co. could push for a fourth league win on the trot when they face off against Stoke City on September 9.
