Rose and Alli start, 3-4-2-1: Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Man United

Manchester United play host to Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s lunch-time Premier League kick-off from Old Trafford.

Spurs came through a tough 3-2 League Cup defeat to West Ham United in midweek, but they will still take the positives from last weekend’s 4-1 league triumph over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The north London giants haven’t won back-to-back meetings versus United since 1990, and they face a tricky challenge at Old Trafford, where Jose Mourinho’s side remain unbeaten in all competitions.

Here is how they could lineup for the encounter….

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Hugo Lloris has been ever-present in goal for Spurs, and he is a certainty to start between the sticks. Alongside Lloris, the backline is likely to remain unchanged with Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez occupying the central defensive positions.

Danny Rose started the disappointing defeat to West Ham in midweek, and Pochettino is likely to be tempted to play the Englishman ahead of Ben Davies at left wing-back. Serge Aurier can be pretty erratic at times on the defensive side of things, and Pochettino could stick with Kieran Trippier at right wing-back.

Onto the midfield, Mousa Dembele has returned to first-team training and the Belgian is pretty much assured of his starting spot alongside Eric Dier, who has cemented his place in the central midfield of late.

Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have been crucial towards Spurs uprise over the past few seasons, and the pair will be expected to start behind the main striker’s position.

Harry Kane is a potential doubt with a hamstring injury, and we are backing Son Heung-min to start up front – with the Englishman probably featuring on the bench at best.
