Sanchez and Mata start, 4-2-3-1: Predicted Man United lineup to face Newcastle United

Manchester United will seek to clinch back-to-back wins in the Premier League when they face-off against Newcastle United at St James Park on Sunday. The Red Devils eased to a 2-0 triumph over Huddersfield Town last weekend and Jose Mourinho will expect another strong performance against the Magpies to take advantage of any lapses from the table-toppers.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Lineup:

David de Gea picked his 15th clean sheet of the Premier League campaign versus the Terries last weekend, and the Spaniard will be eyeing another shutout as he aims to win the Golden Glove for the first time.

In defence, Mourinho could stick with the combination from the previous weekend with Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo fulfilling the central defensive duties whilst Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw will slot into the right and left-back positions respectively.

Paul Pogba was a surprise exclusion from the starting lineup versus Huddersfield, but this is a distinct possibility that the Frenchman will retain his spot ahead of Scott McTominay to partner Nemanja Matic in central midfield.

Onto the attack, Juan Mata had a good performance versus the Terriers where he provided a brilliantly-crafted cross for Lukaku’s goal. The Spaniard is likely to start on the right-wing with Alexis Sanchez on the left whilst Jesse Lingard could feature in his regular number 10 position.

Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring versus the Terries last weekend, and this happened to be his 18th goal for Manchester United across all competitions. The Belgian is certain to lead the line for Mourinho’s men.
