Sanchez and Pogba start, 4-2-3-1: Strongest Man United XI to face Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United will aim to continue their five-game winning streak in 2018 when they travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night. United have not had a fond time at Spurs with just no victories in the last five seasons, but the temporary change to the national stadium could benefit Jose Mourinho’s side.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

David de Gea is very much certain to return in goal after missing the weekend FA Cup game versus Yeovil Town which United won by a comfortable 4-0 scoreline. The Spain international has kept 14 clean sheets in the Premier League including three on the trot in 2018.

In defence, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are likely to return to the right and left-back positions after a rest at Huish Park, whilst Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are now the preferred options to feature at the heart of the backline.

In midfield, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are pretty much automatic picks with the former providing the thrust going forward whilst Matic does the hard-working shielding job which he is renowned for.

Alexis Sanchez put in a good performance on his United debut with an assist versus Yeovil. The Chilean is likely to start on the right side of the attack, with Jesse Lingard in the number 10 position while Anthony Martial appears certain to start on the left-wing after netting in three straight league games.

Up front, Romelu Lukaku is expected to lead the line as he has done for most of the campaign. Lukaku popped up with another late goal during the Cup triumph over Yeovil, and this has taken his scoring tally to 17 in all competitions.
