Manchester United scrapped to a 1-0 Champions League win over Benfica on Wednesday night after Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game. Chances were far between for Jose Mourinho’s men, and it took the intelligence of Rashford, who scored a long-range free-kick after he caught Benfica shot-stopper Mile Svilar off the line.
The Benfica goalkeeper managed to hold onto Rashford’s effort, but his momentum took him over the line and cost the Portuguese giants a valuable draw at the Estadio da Luz. The whole team was not upto the mark for the encounter, but the club’s faithful took aim at one particular individual in the United defence.
Daley Blind had been dropped from Premier League duties due to his reduced impact and the fans are not pleased with the Dutchman’s involvement where he has not done much in the forward department. The Netherlands international has looked subdued and far from his best form this season, and the supporters made their feeling clear via social media.
