Signing Imminent- United Set To Snatch Liverpool’s €31 Million Target

United are poised to sign Barcelona winger Pedro according to the latest reports, with the Reds willing to trigger a release clause which could make the signing happen over the next few days.

The Spanish international was thought to be a target for Brendan Rodgers who was keen to add to his attacking options following his pursuit of Christian Benteke.

Pedro is believed to favour a move to Old Trafford – with Champions League football one offer Rodgers cannot match.

The Guardian notes:

Louis van Gaal is hopeful of buying Pedro from Barcelona to increase Manchester United’s attacking options, with the manager poised to trigger the forward’s release clause of £22m.

Robin van Persie has departed United for Fenerbahce to leave Van Gaal with Wayne Rooney as his only recognised frontline central striker. The Dutchman wants to play 4-3-3 and Pedro’s versatility in being able to operate across the frontline is attractive.

The only problem for United is Chelsea’s alleged interest but even that may not be a problem as Pedro is reportedly set on a move to Old Trafford.

A multi trophy winning Spanish international at United sounds an attractive proposition, let’s just see if Van Gaal and Ed Woodward can make the deal happen.

  1. Liverpool seems to be loading up with strikers; don’t know why they’d be pursuing another one.
