According to reports from the Independent, the La Liga duo of Valencia and Atletico Madrid are both keen on making a swoop for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera.

Ander Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao during the summer of 2014 and it has to be said that the midfielder has proven to be a very good signing for the Red Devils.

During a period of struggle, Herrera has been one of the few consistent performers for United over the past few years and his committed displays have most certainly been much appreciated by the Red Devils faithful.

With the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea during the summer though, Herrera has been pushed down the pecking order at United this season and with his contract at Old Trafford set to expire at the end of the current campaign, an exit for the 28-year-old has been seen as a possibility.

A number of clubs in Spain have already expressed an interest in signing Herrera in recent times and now according to reports from the Independent, claims are being made that the midfielder is currently being courted by the duo of Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

United could exploit Valencia’s interest in Herrera to their advantage as the Red Devils could potentially negotiate a deal for top target Carlos Soler if indeed the La Liga high flyers make an approach for the midfielder this January.
