According to reports carried out by the Daily Mirror, Riyad Mahrez had jetted off to Manchester in a desperate bid to join Manchester United on deadline day.
Riyad Mahrez had made clear early on in the summer transfer window of his desire to leave Leicester City but the Algerian international failed to earn a move to another club before the passing of the transfer deadline and will now have to remain at the King Power Stadium for the next four months at the very least.
It was believed that Mahrez would be forcing a move on deadline day and his transfer away from Leicester City looked very likely after the 26-year-old had left the Algeria training camp ahead of their World Cup qualifiers.
Now according to reports carried out by the Daily Mirror, Mahrez left the Algerian camp to fly out to Manchester in a bid to earn a switch to Manchester United but his efforts ultimately proved to be in vain as the transfer evidently did not come into fruition.
United were in the market to sign a new winger all summer long and it remains to be see why they could not complete a deadline day move for Mahrez.
