Manchester United have been linked with numerous left backs this summer and one of them is Alex Telles.
The Red Devils were seriously looking to sign Sergio Reguilon but reports suggest that the Spanish international has chosen to move to Tottenham Hotspur instead.
According to Portuguese source O JOGO, with the Real Madrid fullback moving to Spurs, Telles has a clear path to secure Manchester United move.
A similar story has been covered by A Bola as well. Earlier this month, they reported that Man Utd want the star from Porto, who are looking for a fee of 30 million euros for the 27-year-old defender.
Now, the Portuguese outlet (via Sport Witness) have claimed that the Brazilian international has an open route to sign for Manchester United and the Liga Nos champions are ready to accept a fee of just 20 million euros (£18million).
Alex Telles, whose current contract is going to expire next year, is one of the best attacking defenders in the world. Last season, in all competitions, the South American star scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists i.e. direct contribution in 25 goals.
Our first choice left back is Luke Shaw. The England international is a good defender but he is a highly injury prone player.
On the other hand, going forward in the attacking third, his stats are poor. In 139 appearances for the Old Trafford club, the former Southampton man has only managed to score 2 goals thus far.
We need more from our fullbacks just like Liverpool have been able to get so many assists from their fullbacks and bringing Telles would surely sort that concern for us.
The summer transfer window will shut down on October 5 and we have to act swiftly to sign the key targets. In your view, should Man United splash £18million to lure Alex Telles from the Primeira Liga champions?
