According to reports carried out by the Daily Express, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has informed Fenerbahce that he will probably be joining Manchester United.
With Ozil refusing to sign an extension to his contract at Arsenal, it looks very likely that the German playmaker will be leaving the Emirates Stadium within the next six months and Manchester United have been touted as a very likely destination for the attacker.
In addition to United, a number of other clubs are also keen on making a swoop for Ozil and even Turkish giants Fenerbahce are looking to lure the 29-year-old to their club.
Now according to an update provided by the Daily Express, Fenerbahce have already established contact with Ozil over a potential move but the World Cup winner is believed to have rejected the advances as he has his eyes set on a transfer to Old Trafford.
When approached by Fenerbahce, Ozil allegedly rejected the proposal by saying, “Manchester United is a very serious proposal. I’ll probably be transferred there.”
The credibility of the quotes remain in question at the moment but if indeed Ozil wants to move to United, the Red Devils will surely be signing a top quality player who can aid their hopes of winning the Premier League title.
