Manchester United have not strengthened their central midfield for almost three years and this summer, Solskjaer must move to reinforce the department.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then once again, the Red Devils are heavily linked with French international and Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
Transfer: £45million star ready to agree Man Utd move if they double offer
Last year, the Old Trafford outfit were actively trying to sign the Les Bleus player (AS), however, in the end, he opted to stay with the Ligue 1 side. As per the latest updates, Man Utd will press to finally sign him this summer.
According to renowned French journalist, Mohamed Bouhafsi, Man Utd have officially expressed their interest in luring the 18-year-old midfielder.
In Bouhafsi’s report for RMC Sport, it is stated that talks between the 20-time English champions and the reps of Camavinga are imminent. However, the midfielder’s priority is to stay in France and sign for Paris Saint-Germain. The teenage sensation’s current deal with Rennes will expire in just 12 months, still, it is stated that the club are asking for a mammoth fee of 100 million euros i.e £86million.
In March, The Daily Express reported that the young midfielder is valued at around £50million, which makes some sense (as compared to the price mentioned by RMC) because the player can be lured for nothing next year.
Camavinga can play anywhere in the center of the park but he mainly performs the job of a play breaker (The Athletic). He likes to press and tackle to win the ball, a role brilliantly played by N’Golo Kante for France. That is why he does not score many goals. In 82 appearances for Rennes so far, the 3-capped international has only found the net twice.
At Old Trafford, Ole has several creative midfielders but he needs a solid play breaker to provide cover in front of the back four. With Matic past his best and mainly a bench warmer, in your view, should Man Utd move in to finally sign Eduardo Camavinga?
Man utd should go all out an sign Eduado Camavinga, he is a generational talent, he is the play breaker we need
