Team Update: Red Devils squad head to London – Two Man Utd stars absent

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are among the high-profile players deemed to have not travelled for Manchester United’s Premier League outing versus Arsenal on Saturday evening.

According to The Manchester Evening News, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic did not show their presence at the Stockport train station where their teammates boarded for their Premier League trip to north London.

Mkhitaryan received public criticism from Jose Mourinho earlier last month after he stressed that the Armenian had been ‘disappearing‘ on the playing field of late. The attacker followed to make a cameo appearance for Brighton game last weekend, but he was left out completely during the midweek league triumph over Watford.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic has featured as a substitute in the last four games for United, but it appears that Mourinho has decided to rest him with next weekend’s Manchester derby in mind. The big Swede failed to feature in both games versus the Gunners last term, and he looks set to miss another clash against Arsene Wenger’s side unless he makes an individual trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Aside from this, Luke Shaw is not part of the travelling party after having been dropped in each of the last two matchday squads. The Englishman was picked for the Champions League defeat at Basel but he was left to warm the substitutes’ bench.
