Rice and Sancho for England

Earlier in the day, Manchester United, who were ripped apart by Liverpool on Tuesday, announced the appointment of new manager, Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch boss faces a massive rebuilding job at the club and reports indicate that he will be handed a huge transfer kitty to sign new players in the summer.

Transfer: Favorites Man Utd will move in to sign £50million attacker

According to a report covered by The Mirror’s David McDonnel (news image provided below), Ten Hag needs a Fergie-style revolution to clean up the mess and bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.

The renowned journalist has stated that the 52-year-old coach is looking at quality players to improve the squad and top targets include the likes of Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

The Tottenham striker has been in red-hot form under the management of Antonio Conte and recent reports have indicated that he is valued at around £140m (The Mirror).

On the other hand, Rice is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and West Ham United would demand a fee of at least £120m to sell him (90min).

McDonnel claims that Ten Hag will be handed funds worth £200m to improve the squad this summer and the budget will be over if Man Utd do end up signing Kane and Rice.

As far as the alternatives are concerned, it is stated that the Red Devils could consider cheaper options like Darwin Nunez and Ruben Neves to improve their strike force and the midfield respectively.

The Old Trafford faithful can expect a busy summer transfer window under the new manager. In your opinion, who should Ten Hag sign to strengthen the squad?

  1. It would seem to me that one of the reasons United signed Ten Hag is because of his ability to unearth top talent at reasonable rates. Rather than spend outrageous sums for Kane, I’m thinking that he might go the route of Liverpool:
Mane was picked-up for 34m quid and from a wide position, he has contributed 108 goals in 246 matches for Liverpool and so many assists.
Salah was purchased for just over 34 million quid and has produced 115 goal in 171 matches.
Jotta cost Liverpool 40 m and he has banged in 43 goals in 74 matches, often coming of the bench.
Firmino was lured to Liverpool for 29mil in 2015 and while he has produced 98 goals in 313 matches he has contributed so, so much more
And if the above wasn’t bad enough (for the opposition) Liverpool snapped up Luiz Diaz for just 37.5 mil quid and he has already scored 4 in 13 matches ; again mostly among off the bench
And don’t get me started on Rice. and his wayyyyyy over the top price-tag.
