Darwin Nunez - Benfica and Uruguay forward

Manchester United want to reinforce the squad in the summer after yet another trophy-less campaign and reports suggest that Ten Hag could look to strengthen key areas.

Transfer: Man Utd make big bid to sign £66million creative star – Report

The news source have mentioned Ten Hag’s big name targets and as far as the strike-force is concerned, the Dutch manager may have to replace veterans like Ronaldo and Cavani.

In such a scenario, it is stated that Man Utd could submit an offer for Harry Kane or Darwin Nunez. Our focus is on the latter.

The 22-year-old Benfica star has so far netted 32 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions and it is not surprising that top teams are interested in hiring his signature.

As per The Athletic, the Red Devils are one of the front-runners to lure the Uruguayan international, who is valued at £58million.

In the Champions League, Nunez scored against European giants like Bayern Munich, Ajax, Barcelona and both home and away against Liverpool.

Last night, at Anfield, the young center forward found the net on three occasions with brilliant precision, however, unfortunately, twice the linesman raised the flag for offside and the same was confirmed by VAR.

Having already excelled in the Europe’s prime tournament, he would likely want to take part in the competition next term. For now, Man Utd are not in pole position to earn CL qualification.
