Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura ahead of his proposed switch to Old Trafford this month. The Brazil international has snubbed numerous offers from the French Ligue 1 as he has set his sights on working under Jose Mourinho.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old has agreed to join the Red Devils, and it is left for the club to agree upon a transfer sum with the French giants. United are said to have initially proposed a loan deal for Moura, but Paris Saint-Germain have snubbed the approach as they prefer cashing in on the winger.
Negotiations are still continuing between both sides, and it is suggested that United are looking to lower the attacker’s €40m price tag before pursuing his services this month. Nevertheless, Mourinho’s side may need to quicken the proposed move with Liverpool also in contact with the player’s representative.
The likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have put in good performances over the course of the current campaign, and Moura could provide fresh impetus in the attack with Rashford, in particular, struggling to exhibit his top form over the past month.
Moura has not quite progressed the way many would have hoped, and this may be one of the prime reasons behind Mourinho trying to pursue the Brazilian on an initial loan in the first place. Moura has been starved of league action this season with just five substitute appearances for Paris Saint-Germain off the bench.
