Manchester United supporters were delighted with the showing of Paul Pogba during Saturday’s cross-town derby versus Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The France international experienced a mixed reception from the fans during the game, but was ultimately handed the man-of-the-match accolade for his game-changing involvement.
Pogba was virtually non-existent in the first-half where United allowed City to score on two separate occasions whilst offering several other opportunities.
However, in the second period, the Frenchman led a stunning comeback by example as he scored a brace in in the space of 97 seconds to put United back on track.
Eventually, Chris Smalling made amends for his first-half error with a power header into the 69th minute, and this ensured United won the bragging rights in the derby.
United have to buy a CM to control from deep and give Pogba more freedom like this. Top top player.

Leaders stand up when their team is in trouble. Paul Pogba’s just done that. Lots of criticism around him, but when he makes runs forward, he really is class. Let him excel.

Paul Pogba drags his boyhood club from the brink of embarrassment against our bitter rivals to inspire a comeback, and is now in the fans celebrating and touching the clubs crest. I love this guy.

Biggest match of the season, 2-0 down at half time, one of the worst nightmares about to come true and Paul Pogba came alive. A day to remember. Won't be forgotten for a long, long time.

Well I suppose some may see that there's value in Paul Pogba after all. Single-handedly turned the match for what had been an abject Manchester United to that point.

Paul Pogba was free today, Herrera and Matic behind him helped dramatically. This is the system to fit Paul Pogba – Further forward he can hurt any team in world football.
Supreme footballer.

Pogba has had a mixed 2018 which started a couple of splendid performances versus Stoke City and Everton. Following this, he had a time on the bench, and there were even suggestions that he had a fall-out with Jose Mourinho.
Since the international break, Pogba has managed to win over the Portuguese with a strong display with France, and he showed glimpses of his extreme potential on Saturday after being played on the left side of a three-man midfield.
Pogba’s credentials have never been questioned by the club, but he may require to put in regular performances of the same sort in the coming games in order to distance himself from the criticism – just like Romelu Lukaku.
