Two changes – Man Utd strongest predicted XI vs Brighton

Old Trafford night

Manchester United will look to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday (16 September 2023).

The Red Devils have made a stuttering start to their new season, winning two and losing two.

They are heading into this game on the back of a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal prior to the international break, and Erik ten Hag will be looking for a strong reaction.

It won’t be easy though against Brighton who continue to go from strength to strength. They have made a positive start to the season, winning three of their opening four games.

Roberto De Zebri’s side have scored three or more goals in all the games they have won, and the confidence in the team is sky-high following their impressive 3-1 win against Newcastle in the previous game.

The headlines have been dominated by Jadon Sancho in the past few days. The England winger has been banned from first-team training following his social media outburst against Ten Hag.

Likewise, winger Antony will not represent the club until further notice amid allegations of assault made against him. In their absence, Ten Hag is running short of options at right-wing role, and the Dutchman is expected to make some changes.

Raphael Varane (muscle), Luke Shaw (muscle) and Amad Diallo (knee) are definitely missing but summer signing Sofyan Amrabat is available after recovering from a back problem.

Lisandro Martinez was taken off against the Gunners and didn’t feature for his country. However, he should be available despite missing both games for Argentina.

Ten Hag also confirmed that Mason and Varane “both are in a good place”, but the weekend may have come too soon for them.

The Dutchman is likely to make two changes – Rasmus Hojlund could start upfront while Alejandro Garnacho could be an option at left wing, with Fernandes moving to the right.

Man Utd strongest 4-2-3-1 XI vs Brighton: Onana, Lindelof, Martinez, Dalot, Wan-Bisssaka, Fernandes, Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Garnacho, Hojlund.
