Two changes – Predicted 3-4-2-1 Man Utd lineup vs Athletic Club

Manchester United will travel to San Mamés Stadium to take on Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday night.

The Red Devils continue to struggle in the Premier League and are winless in this competition since beating Leicester City last month, just before the international break.

However, they have an opportunity to end a disappointing campaign on a positive note by winning the Europa League.

As per team news, Lisandro Martínez, Joshua Zirkzee, Diogo Dalot, and Toby Collyer are set to remain sidelined for this game owing to their injury problems, with the Argentinian and the Dutchman’s season already over.

Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt have returned to full training after recovering from their injuries and have even travelled with the squad. This game will come too early for them to start, but they might get involved as substitutes.

Ayden Heaven remains sidelined due to his injury. Chido Obi hasn’t been registered to play in this competition, meaning he won’t get involved in this fixture, but has travelled with the team.

Expected Man Utd line-up vs Athletic Club

Ruben Amorim is likely to make two changes to his starting XI from last weekend’s draw against AFC Bournemouth. But, Andre Onana is set to continue in goal, and Harry Maguire should be in the CCB position.

Luke Shaw might not be ready to start two consecutive games in this quick succession, hence he could be among the substitutes. Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro are expected to be the two other centre-backs. Patrick Dorgu may commence in the RWB role, while Harry Amass might be on the opposite side.

Kobbie Mainoo is expected to be replaced by Manuel Ugarte in the engine room, and Casemiro could start alongside the Uruguayan.

Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho are set to be the two No.10s. In that case, Mason Mount and Mainoo should feature off the bench.

Rasmus Hojlund would lead the line for the visitors, having scored last time out against the Cherries in the Premier League. Here’s the predicted Man Utd line-up vs Athletic Club:
