United to complete £16million transfer this week

It really was not the start that all involved at Manchester United we’re hoping for, losing 2-1 at Old Trafford to Swansea City. After the match the fans were calling for signings to happen with immediate effect on social media, signings that look to be getting closer on Monday afternoon as Marcos Rojo looks to be on his way to Old Trafford.

According to reports, Marcos Rojo will be Manchester United’s third signing of the summer, coming in as a centre-back, a position that was most vulnerable on Saturday against Swansea City.

The deal for Marcos Rojo is due to be resolved by the end of play this week, signing in time for United’s away trip to Sunderland on Sunday. A £16million transfer fee is said to have been agreed for the 24-year-old, with Luis Nani going the other way on loan for the season, according to The Guardian.

The transfer is a complicated one, due to a third party group owning a third of Marcos Rojo, but his current club Sporting Lisbon are happy to accept a fee in the region of £24million, thus United have offered £16million plus Luis Nani.

Rojo, refused to play for Sporting Lisbon last weekend in a friendly, and also had not trained with the club all week. On Sunday, he apologised to the club and fans and returned to training on Monday. According to reports, his return to training with Sporting have not affected his dream move to Old Trafford.
