Manchester United have cooled their interest in Nicolas Otamendi according to Andy Mitten.
United were thought to be keen on the centre-back but Valencia were the only obstacle in the deal, demanding that United pay the full €50m of his release clause.
But United have shown already this season that they are willing to spend money if needed to get their man.
Speaking in his tour diary, Mitten said:
Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos remains a United target as the club plays hardball with Real Madrid over David De Gea, but interest has cooled on Valencia central defender Nicolas Otamendi.
It is likely that United are focusing on Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and if they fail to wrestle him away from Real Madrid then Otamendi will be the back up option.
It wouldn’t be the first time United changed their minds, after cooling their interest in Mats Hummels earlier in the window too.
Mitten also claimed that United’s interest is Barcelona’s Pedro is real, his £22m buyout clause isn’t an issue but nothing is locked in:
Valdes’ former Barca teammate Pedro could be one of several signings to bolster the Old Trafford Spanish-speaking contingent. His £22 million release clause is not a problem, and United want to sign the winger.
Talks for the 27-year-old, who will likely play against United on Saturday, are not advanced, but interest is definite.
LVG is becoming more childish after getting 4 players within two weeks, I don’t know why they managers of UNITED refuses to put a point and sign a defender so he train and know his likes in united team, please if there someone close to LVG, that person should tell him that so many united FANS in NIGERIA almost died due to his tactics and we are not ready to pass through those challenge this season, thanks. Long live MANCHESTER UNITED, LONG LIVE FEDRAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.
