United loanee to have his loan deal terminated?

Nick Powell is set to return to Manchester United as he considered surplus to Nigel Pearson’s Leicester City, who occupy the foot of the Barclays Premier League. Powell has only made two substitute appearances for the Foxes and hasn’t been included in the match day 18 for the last three games. United do have the option to recall Powell next month and reports suggest Leicester would be happy to terminate his loan deal.

Powell was purchased by Sir Alex Ferguson from Crewe Alexandra in 2012 and was tipped to be an England certainty but has seen his career hit a stumbling block recently. The 20 year old notched up 12 goals last season for champion side Wigan Athletic.

Should Powell return United must decide whether to let him play in he reserves or take the risk of allowing him to go out on loan again.Powell still has 18 months left on his contract and probably won’t feature in the first team given the limited opportunities available.
