Manchester United’s summer signing Bastian Schweinsteiger is set to miss out on the next Premier League fixture against Everton after picking up a knock on international duty.
The World Cup winner sat out his side’s 1-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland, with the win helping the home nation qualify for Euro 2016 in France.
Schweinsteiger is also set to miss out on Germany’s next qualifier against Georgia, which will be played on Sunday.
Wayne Rooney could also be a doubt to face his old club with rumours circulating that he’ll miss out on England’s fixture against Estonia on Friday night. The fixture against the toffees is away, but visit the website here to see all Manchester United tickets for future matches.
The German has helped United reach third in the table, having made eight appearances for the Red Devils this term, but his performances have been criticised of late.
Louis van Gaal secured the services of the German captain this summer for a reported fee of £6.4m, which if true, could prove to be an absolute steal considering modern transfer prices.
In his 17 years at Bayern Munich, Schweinsteiger won two junior Bundesliga titles, eight senior titles, the Champions League and a plethora of other silverware for the Bavarians.
