Manchester United’s summer spending is set to continue after reports that Louis Van Gaal’s side has agreed a fee with Hoffenheim for Brazilian Roberto Firmino.

Reports have emerged this morning that United swooper for the Brazilian international after he confirmed with his club that he would like to leave following their failure to qualify for Europe.

The player’s agent had stated that Firmino would leave if a fee could be agreed with the German club, saying:

“When we extended the contract, we agreed that a winter transfer [in January 2015] would not become an issue.

“We agreed that Roberto can leave the club in the summer [of 2015], should Hoffenheim agree a transfer fee with a club.”

A fee of £13.1m has been mentioned for the player currently away at the Copa America.
