It seems both United and Real Madrid are becoming as stubborn as one another when it comes to their respective transfer targets. While the Reds seem unwilling to let David De Gea leave unless the Spanish giants cough up a huge fee, Real Madrid are also playing hardball when it comes to Sergio Ramos.
According to the latest reports the ten times European Cup/Champions League winners would only be tempted with a ludicrous offer for the defender.
The Mirror notes:
Manchester United have reportedly made a fresh €45million bid for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, as they continue their efforts to land the Spain centre-back.
They will have a fight on their hands if they want to land their number one defensive target though, as Spanish publication AS report that Madrid are demanding the Red Devils cough up €90million for the 29-year-old’s services.
United have reportedly set aside the money for an renewed push to sign the 128-capped Spain international and would pay him €11million-per-season for five years.
It seems highly unlikely United would pay over €50 million for a 29 year-old defender but the wages offer the Reds are prepared to give the Spanish international could tempt Ramos into re-embarking on the apparent agitation that caused the transfer speculation to start in the first place.
