Van Gaal And Woodward Concede Defeat On Marquee Signing – Report

Louis Van Gaal and Edward Woodward are set to pull the plug on last season’s Summer marquee signing by offloading Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Reds are willing to take a £16 million loss on the Argentine star according to the latest reports:

The Metro notes: Angel di Maria is reportedly on the cusp of leaving Manchester United for PSG after a £43.2million deal was struck between the two clubs.

The Argentine endured a difficult time at Old Trafford after making a bright start, sparking speculation that he could leave Manchester after just one season.

And although Di Maria previously expressed his desire to prove himself to Louis van Gaal, French media say that United and PSG have now agreed a £43.2m deal that will take the 27-year-old to the Parc des Princes.

It’s understood that Jorge Mendes has flown into France to thrash out a contract, with the Portuguese agent keen to get his client a deal worth £250,000 a week, while PSG are currently offering £208,000 a week.

As with any transfer story  it remains to be seen whether this one is true but after Di Maria’s poor form towards the end of last season it wouldn’t be a shock if the Reds did decide to cash in before his stock really falls.
