According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United target Andre Gomes has informed Barcelona that he wants to leave this summer.
Barcelona splashed around £40million to acquire the services of Andre Gomes from Valencia over the summer but it has to be said that the 24-year-old did not come close to justifying his huge price tag after putting in underwhelming performances throughout the course of the campaign.
As a result, there has been a lot of talk claiming that Gomes could be sold by Barcelona this summer and a move to England with either Manchester United or Liverpool had been touted for the Portuguese international.
Now as a huge boost to United’s hopes of signing Gomes, the midfielder is said to have informed Barcelona that he wants to leave Nou Camp this summer as he has been left unhappy with the club’s pursuit of another midfielder in Jean-Michel Seri.
Gomes is undoubtedly a very good player on his day but with United currently possessing a host of options at the middle of the park, the signing of the ex-Benfica man could prove to be an unnecessary purchase this summer.
