Former West Ham goalkeeper turned pundit Shaka Hislop believes that Manchester United should sign Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez in the January transfer window.
After experiencing an indifferent year last season, Riyad Mahrez has rediscovered his form during the current campaign and this good form from the Algerian has attracted the attention of some of the very best teams across Europe once again.
One of those clubs currently interested is believed to be English giants Manchester United are the Red Devils are said to be keen on the Algerian winger in order to bring more flair into their stuttering attacking lineup.
Many believe that Mahrez will be a good fit for Manchester United as manager Jose Mourinho focuses more on the counterattacking aspect of the game and the tricky winger has the skill sets to fit in seamlessly into the Red Devils’ setup.
United have now also been backed by Shaka Hislop, who believes that Mahrez will be able to make a difference for the title challengers should he sign for the Old Trafford based outfit.
He told ESPN FC, “I think it would (be a good move to United). I thought he was going to West Ham personally.
“Manchester United are a good second option for Riyad Mahrez, who has rediscovered his form from a couple of seasons ago. He looks a fantastic player, maybe the creative spark that Manchester United need.”
