Manchester United have over relied on a 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo for goals this season. The Portuguese international has scored 18 goals in all competitions, 12 in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, the legendary forward is not the solution for the long term and his best days are long gone. Same goes for Cavani, who has turned 35 this year and Man United need to strengthen the strike-force for next season.

The baffling stat is that no Man United player has managed to score 20 plus goals in a season since retired Dutch star, Robin van Persie, achieved the feat in the 2012-13 season.

In that campaign, the Netherlands international scored 26 times to help us win the Premier League title. Almost 10 year on, the title drought continues. Big names like Rooney, Falcao, Ibrahimovic and now Cavani and Ronaldo have been unable to hit over 20 league goals.

So, the Red Devils need a prolific young center forward and build the team around him in order to compete with the best of teams in the continent and end the trophy drought.

The Old Traffod club will have to come up with a big winning run to finish in the top four and next up, they will face Leicester City when the PL returns after the international break. In case you want to punt on the fixtures then you should know that there are options also for free bets Nigeria. All you need to do is to look for it online and you will fund it.

The question is, who should Man United sign to lead the attack next season? We look at the options.

Erling Haaland:

Erling Braut Haaland, the Champions League top scorer last season, is arguably the best young No.9 in the game at the moment. He has regularly scored goals over the past two years and therefore, top clubs are after him.

His current deal has got a release clause of 75 million euros that can be activated in the summer. The price is within United’ reach but such a world class player would surely want to play in the Europe’s elite competition.

Darwin Nunez:

The Uruguayan international has been in top class form for Benfica this season. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the Primeira Liga and recently, he scored the winning goal against Ajax to book the Eagles place in the quarter finals of the Champions League. It will be intriguing to see how well he will perform against a top side like Liverpool.

The South American youngster would be the one to eventually replace legendary center forwards like Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani for his nation. He is valued at around 60 million euros.

Alexander Isak:

Last but not the least is Swedish starlet, Alexander Isak, who scored 17 goals in the La Liga last season but has no been brilliant in front of goal this term.

Nevertheless, the Real Sociedad forward is supremely talented and has the potential to become brilliant under the right guidance and if nurtured appropriately in the years to come. Isak’s current deal has got a release clause of 90 million euros.
