According to reports from the Daily Star, Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met up with the agent of Ivan Perisic in a late push to sign the Inter Milan attacker.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Ivan Perisic this summer has proven to be very tiring for the fans but it finally looked like the ‘will he won’t he’ saga would be coming to an end after Inter boss Luciano Spalletti stated in no uncertain terms that the winger is not leaving San Siro this summer.

Despite the admission from Spalletti though, United boss Jose Mourinho is intent on bringing in a new attacker to Old Trafford and the Portuguese manager is said to have pressured the club hierarchy to get the deal done for Perisic before transfer deadline day.

Now in a fresh development reported by the Daily Star, claims have been made that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met up with Perisic’s agent, Fali Ramadani, to further discuss a potential move and the Red Devils are now hopeful of a breakthrough in talks.

United’s offer of around £39million is still believed to be on the table at the moment and it is suspected that the Premier League giants will have to raise their bid closer to £48million in order to be able to convince Inter to part with their star.
