Manchester United have not adequately reinforced their midfield since the summer of 2018 when Mourinho was in charge and Fred was bought.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Old Trafford club are linked with one of the most versatile midfielders in the game in the form of Saul Niguez.
Transfer: Report – Man Utd prepared to bid to sign £70million star, who’d like OT move
According to The Sunday People (press image provided below), the Atletico Madrid star is pressing to secure a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The renowned British outlet have mentioned that the £115,000-a-week man has made it clear that his preference is to join the 20-time English champions despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Niguez’s current contract with the Rojiblancos will expire in 2026 and as per the report, the newly crowned La Liga champions, who have suffered financially due to the pandemic, would welcome offers of around £40million.
Saul is mainly a central midfielder but he can effectively play anywhere in the center of the park. In the last campaign, the Spanish international even played as a defensive midfielder and also on the flanks whenever required. In the past, manager Diego Simeone also utilized him in the defense.
He has won every major domestic prize and two Europa League titles with the Wanda Metropolitano outfit but last season, his form was average. That is why he was not even named in the national squad for the European Championships.
The 19-capped international can dribble and strike the ball effectively with both feet and he has the quality and the experience to strengthen the midfield at Old Trafford. In your opinion, should Man Utd splash £40million to sign Saul Niguez?
