Manchester United look to improve their attacking department and a proven quality forward in the form of Mauro Icardi is willing to move to Old Trafford.
As per reports going on in the media, the Argentine international’s future is uncertain and he could end up leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
According to TyC Sports, the former Inter Milan striker is not in the plans of new coach, Christophe Galtier, and the likes of Man United and Galatasaray are interested in signing him. The manager stated:
“The club is working side by side with Mauro to find the best possible solution. He had very little game time and I think the best thing is for him to relaunch his career in another more favorable place”
The Buenos Aires based news source have mentioned that Icardi would welcome a move to the Red Devils, he could join on a loan with an option to buy.
His current contract with the French champions will expire in the summer of 2024 and he earns £170,000 a week (The Sun).
The 8-capped international scored over 100 goals for the Nerazzurri and won the Capocannoniere award (Serie A Golden Boot) on two occasions. However, since moving to France, he has mainly been a bench warmer.
Last season, the 29-year-old striker only managed to start 10 games in the Ligue 1 under Mauricio Pochettino and scored just 4 goals.
The La Albiceleste forward needs to play regular first team football at the club level in order to improve his chances of playing at the World Cup for the national side.
On the other hand, Man United cannot solely rely on 37-year-old Ronaldo for goals and a proven quality finisher like Icardi would be a top addition. In your view, should Ten Hag submit an offer to secure his signing?
