Manchester United came close to hiring the services of Jadon Sancho last year but the move broke down and in the end the Red Devils failed to strengthen their right wing position.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then this time around, neither Man Utd nor the England international want the move to breakdown and therefore, both are pressing to get the deal over the line.
Transfer: Man Utd submit £21.5million bid to sign star – Report
According to Manchester Evening News (press image provided below), £190,000-a-week star expects to secure a move to the Red Devils this summer and has told his agent to get the deal done.
The renowned media outlet have claimed that last year, the Old Trafford outfit offered a salary less than what he is currently making at Dortmund. United baulked at the player’s salary demands and also the intermediary fee demanded by BvB and eventually the deal collapsed.
However, now, Man Utd have been able to agree personal terms with the 21-year-old winger, MEN claim that the deal is close to being agreed with the Bundesliga side as well and Sancho’s camp is confident he will sign for the 20-time English champions this summer.
The former Man City attacker scored 16 goals and also provided 20 assists in all competitions for Dortmund last season and earned his place in England’s European Championships squad.
However, in the opening group stage game, manager Gareth Southgate did not even select the 19-capped international in the squad to face Croatia. The youngster was not injured, instead reports suggest that average displays in the friendlies cost him the place (MEN).
Next up, the Three Lions will face Scotland on Friday night. We shall see if Sancho will make the starting XI or not.
