Manchester United are looking to improve their left back position and they have been heavily linked with Sergio Reguilon.

If the latest reports going on in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are close to sealing the signing of the Spaniard, who recently made hid debut for the senior national side.

Transfer: Club desperate for £265,000-a-week star to join Manchester United – Report

According to Mundo Deportivo, Man United are very close to securing the 23-year-old fullback from Real Madrid.

The Spanish media outlet have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit are in very advanced talks with the Los Blancos and the signing could be sealed in days (this week).

MD further claim that the 20-time English champions would be paying a fee of around £23m-£28m and do not want Real Madrid to include any buy-back option in the deal.

Reguilon was a key member of the Sevilla side (on loan) that won the Europa League last season. It must be remembered that he had a brilliant outing against Manchester United in the last four contest and he even provided an assist against us.

At Old Trafford, United improved their right back position by signing Wan-Bissaka in 2019. The former Crystal Palace star did really well in the last campaign.

However, in all honesty, in the left back role, we have not been able to adequately replace club legend Patrice Evra as yet. Shaw was hired for a decent sum in 2014 but the England international has spent a lot of time out injured.

Darmian turned out to be average, Rojo has consistently been injured as well and young Williams is not ready yet. Therefore, the LB position should be reinforced and Sergio Reguilon would be a quality addition.
