Manchester United are looking to sign a prolific striker and once again, the name of Wissam Ben Yedder is in the focus.
According to Le10Sport, the Old Trafford outfit have been in contact with the player’s representatives for over a year and it is stated that the French international particularly likes Manchester United.
The famous French outlet have mentioned that RB Leipzig are in the lime light as well as they look to replace Timo Werner, who recently agreed a move to Chelsea, in their strike-force.
Ben Yedder was in fantastic form in the 2019-20 campaign that ended early due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the Ligue 1, the 29-year-old forward started 25 league games and directly contributed in as many goals. On the other hand, in all competitions for Monaco, he scored 19 goals and provided 9 assists in 31 appearances.
He made his debut for the senior national side two years ago under Didier Deschamps and thus far, he has scored 2 goals in 8 appearances for the two time World Cup winners.
Back in the 2017-18 campaign, the Les Bleus striker scored a brace against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at Old Trafford to knock them out of the UEFA Champions League. In that season, he scored 8 goals in as many CL starts for Sevilla.
Ben Yedder has proved his worth over the years but it must be remembered that he is going to turn 30 in August. His current contract with Monaco will expire in 2024 and as per Le10Sport, the Ligue 1 side are open to selling him and want a fee of 40 million euros (£36million).
In your view, should Man United splash £36million to secure the signing of the experienced striker?
