4-2-3-1: Man Utd’s strongest possible XI vs Liverpool

Last season, Man United fought hard to earn a point against Liverpool at Old Trafford at a time when the Merseysiders were on top of the table. Ultimately, the Reds failed to win the title by a single point.

Now, Klopp’s men have an eight point lead over Man City in the League after just eight fixtures. Will we be able to stop their progress again? Only time will tell.

Nevertheless, our progress is much more important, Solskjaer’s men could even end up in the relegation zone if they lose against the Anfield club.

Transfer: Man Utd looking to sign “unbelievable” midfielder who’d cost £43m+ in summer – Face competition

David De Gea has been ruled out of the contest on Sunday and in such a scenario, we can expect Sergio Romero to start in the goal.

As far as the back-line is concerned, Shaw is still out and therefore, Young could start in the left back role. Wan-Bissaka, who has missed the last three games, is expected to return and start in the right back position.

The likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof should start in the central defense for the Red Devils.

As far as the midfield is concerned, record signing Pogba has not recovered as yet and therefore, he will miss the all important clash at the weekend. We can expect Matic to start with McTominay in the center of the park.

Martial could return to start as the main center forward up front and behind him, the likes of Rashford, Mata and James could start in the attack.

  1. With this squad, I don’t see Liverpool beaten us. Except they the play the way they played against Newcastle United.
I wonder why Man refused to buy seasoned players even when we’re one of the richest teams in the World.
Look teams like Real Madrid,Barca, Man city, Liverpool, Juventus, just to mention but a few.
Anything less that victory against Liverpool will not be accepted.
