Manchester United have been linked with Raul Jimenez for some time and the latest reports going on in the media are positive.
According to RTP, Wolves are close to signing Portuguese striker Paulinho from Braga in order to replace Jimenez, who is on his way to secure a move to Manchester United.
Transfer: Man United backed to secure signing of ‘best’ £200,000-a-week forward
The Portuguese outlet have mentioned that Nuno Espirito Santo wants his compatriot at the Molineux and they are hiring his services for a fee of 30 million euros.
Paulinho started 27 fixtures in the recently concluded Liga Nos campaign and directly contributed (Transfermarkt) in 24 goals (17 goals and 7 assists).
As far as Raul Jimenez is concerned, the Mexican international has been a superstar for Wolves. In the current campaign, so far, he has netted 26 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.
The West Midlands side have the advantage of an away goal going into the second leg of their R16 Europa League tie with Olympiacos. If they end up winning the competition, then they will play in the next season’s Champions League.
Last summer, we sold Lukaku to Inter Milan and since then, we have used a natural winger, Anthony Martial, in the center forward role.
We need to sign a proven quality out and out striker and in such a scenario, Raul Jimenez, who has been a clinical finisher for Wolves, would be a top addition.
However, it must be taken into consideration that the Mexican star is going to turn 30 in less than 12 months and his market value is very high as well. As per Tutto Sport, Wolves value their prized asset at 60 million euros (£54million).
In your opinion, is Jimenez good enough to improve the strike-force at Old Trafford?
definitely agree, he will give our club attacking squad some additional sharpness.
He is too old. Get Greenwood ready for new season. Bring in the youth like what SAF did if they are ready. If not, then we buy a young talent like CR7. Get someone fresh and no one knew. OGS should know that. He is one of the best strikers(even if only sub) we ever buy. No one knew him. But when they do, they called him ” THE BABY FACE ASSASSIN”
Yes he is pretty good for united but his age and price tag is too much
Man.Utd seem to be aiming to get to the top by only talking and assuming but what with just one player only signed so far. If Chelsea and Arsenal can do alot more better in their signings but is Man.Utd appearing to be a failure all over again.
The Jadon Sancho saga is over, so now what are they waiting for?
All we hear is a make believe story is that Man.Utd are closer on signing this player and that player but yet no progress. Chelsea and Arsenal have done some great signings.
It is very sad to watch such a big club go from bad to worse in the transfer market.
