Serie A outfit AC Milan are reportedly planning a summer attempt to lure Ander Herrera from Manchester United. The Spain international has not experienced the best of seasons at Old Trafford, and he has been restricted to just eight Premier League starts.
Herrera, 28, was probably one of the standout players under Jose Mourinho during the previous campaign, but he has failed to produce a similar showing this term with injuries, fitness and a loss of form hampering his chances of competing for a regular midfield role.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Rossoneri are one among the clubs keeping a close watch on Herrera’s situation, and they could potentially offer as much as €36m in order to prise him away from Old Trafford.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires during the summer of 2019 after United triggered an extension clause, but this may have been made to recoup funds from his potential sale during the summer.
Despite Michael Carrick’s retirement and Marouane Fellaini’s potential departure, Mourinho is supposedly open to selling Herrera, should the midfielder personally request the opportunity to pursue a fresh challenge.
