There are certain complications in the talks between Manchester United and Sporting CP regarding the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have not agreed any fee with the Lions as yet and the difference is just €10million.

Transfer: Man United have made contact to sign £64million star – Face competition

According to O Jogo, the Primeira Liga club want (£60million) €70million (€60 million in cash and €10 million in add-ons), however, the Premier League side are willing to advance with a proposal of €60million (€50million in cash and €10 million in add-ons).

The renowned Portuguese source have talked about the situation at both clubs. It is stated that Sporting have a poor financial situation and therefore, they want to do business, but they are well aware that United badly need Fernandes because their key first team players like Pogba and McTominay are out injured.

The good thing for the Old Trafford club is that both the player and his agent want the deal to be done. O Jogo claim that the 25-year-old attacker has already made it clear that he wants to go to England, on the other hand, his agent, Miguel Pinho, is trying to convince Sporting CP president, Frederico Varandas, to reach an agreement with Man United keeping in view all the good things that his client has done for the club.

Fernandes captained his team to two domestic titles last term and has been highly impressive for the Lions in the current campaign as well.

He did feature vs Benfica on Friday night but we will have to wait and see if the attacking midfielder will be part of the squad when the club faces Braga in the Taca da Liga tomorrow night.

The transfer saga has dragged on for far too long and the time is running out. United were humbled by arch rivals Liverpool yesterday and they must act swiftly to improve the squad. Signing Bruno Fernandes would be a step in the right direction.
