Transfer: Man Utd attempting to sign £35million player this month – Report

In June 2019, the Old Trafford club were linked with a 95 million euros move for the African superstar (Corriere dello Sport).

If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have recently contacted the player’s representatives to inquire about signing him. Foot Mercato have reported that the in the summer, Alex Ferguson was trying to help United sign the former Genk central defender but in the end, the 20-time English champions backed off because Napoli were asking a mammoth fee of 100 million euros.

The renowned French outlet have reported that the relationship between the player and Aurelio De Laurentiis is complicated and now, the club president is open to selling the 28-year-old star for a fee of 75 million euros (£64million).

Koulibaly has been the most consistent defender in the Italian league. In the last four campaigns, he has made it into the Serie A Team of the Year. So, it is not surprising that top European clubs are after him.

As per Foot Mercato, PSG are prepared to offer him a lucrative deal and the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid are also looking to secure his signature.

The above mentioned clubs are playing in the Champions League and are firm favorites to take part in the Europe’s elite competition even next season. However, Man United are taking part in the Europa League and are struggling in the Premier league this term.

Kalidou Koulibaly is a world class player, who deserves to play in the top tier of European football. If United fail to earn Champions League qualification yet again then it will not come as any surprise to see the star defender move elsewhere.
