Transfer: Man Utd consider move to finally sign midfielder with £106million clause – Report
The League One club announced that the 20-year-old goalie has joined Man United for an undisclosed fee.
As far as our goal-keeping department is concerned, we have a world class first choice star in the form of David De Gea and a top quality back-up option in the form of Sergio Romero.
In all honesty, Bishop’s record in his career so far is absolutely terrible. In the current campaign, the youngster featured in 12 league games for Southend, kept no clean sheets and conceded no fewer than 37 goals i.e. more than 3 goals per game.
In those 12 fixtures, his team, who are in relegation zone at the moment, could only earn a total of 3 points, lost 9 games and drew 3. Overall, in 16 appearances, the English goalie conceded 46 goals this term.
The shot stopper expressed his delight after completing the move and said (MUFC):
“The opportunity to join Manchester United is a dream come true. This club has a great record of developing goalkeepers and I cannot wait to work with the coaches here to improve every single day.”
Well, let’s hope that Man United do end up developing Bishop into a top class goalie.
