Manchester United worked hard to get Martinez from Ajax but the Dutch champions want to hold on to Antony at all costs.
According to an exclusive story covered by Steve Bates, the Eredivisie giants are not willing to let the Selecao star leave even if the Red Devils meet his valuation of £70million.

Sporting director, Gerry Hamstra, stated:
“Let us make this clear, we did not even want to lose Martinez, but the figures for the transfer fee were going to such heights that anyone in football knows how it works then.”
We had to let him go. But we still have massive ambitions at Ajax. We play in the Champions League and we can’t afford to let go of 6 key players.”
Ajax’s stance is set to infuriate Antony. Bates claim that the Brazilian international is willing to agree a huge deal to sign for Manchester United, just like Martinez has been able to quadruple his wages by securing a move to Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions paid over the odds to sign the Argentine central defender and in all fairness, Hamstra’s comments kind of indicate that if the PL club blow the bank again, they might be able to lure the Samba attacker as well.
Last summer, Man Utd splashed the cash to sign English winger, Jadon Sancho, from Borussia Dortmund but the attacker only managed to score 5 goals in 37 appearances in the 2021-22 campaign.
Ten Hag surely does not need a big money flop. In your view, should the Red Devils agree £70million deal to sign Antony?
