German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly planning a move for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial as they prepare a succession plan for the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
Martial, 22, has been highlighted to be unsettled at Old Trafford by his representative this summer after he was dropped from the starting lineup for Alexis Sanchez during the backend of last season.
According to The Express, Bayern scout Laurent Busser has identified Martial as one of the probable options to bolster the squad in a year’s time with both Robben and Ribery expected to part ways with the Bundesliga outfit.
Martial’s current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2019 but United are unlikely to let him leave on a free, considering they have the option of triggering a 12-month extension clause.
The Frenchman is presently with Jose Mourinho’s side for their pre-season tour of the United States and hopefully, he can use the trip to his advantage with Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku unavailable for the early part of the season due to World Cup duty.
At a similar period last year, the £75million star was in sublime form for United which earned him the hope of claiming a regular starting spot and he has the opportunity to impress once more – starting from the pre-season opener versus Club America on July 19.
