Manchester United are interested in signing Odysseas Vlachodimos from Benfica and the latest reports indicate he can be lured for cheap.

The Greek international’s current deal has a release clause of £51.2m but as per reports coming from Portugal today, he can join United for just £8.5m.

Transfer: Deal close – Blow for Man Utd as £26million target agrees move elsewhere

According to a story published by O Jogo (news image provided below), Man Utd are intent and most interested in luring the 29-year-old shot stopper.

The Porto based news source have mentioned that Benfica are ready to sell the experienced goalie for a fee of just 10 million euros (£8.5m).

Last season, Vlachodimos kept 21 clean sheets out of 34 league games and conceded just 20 goals as the Eagles went on to win the title.

This term, he featured for full 90 minutes in the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira as Benfica beat arch rivals, Porto, 2-0.

However, things between the manager and the player turned sour after the opening Primera Liga defeat against Boavista and he is now up for sale.

The Liga Nos giants paid £8.5m to lure Trubin from Shakhtar and want the same fee from United, who want Vlachodimos to replace Dean Henderson as cover for first choice goal keeper, Andre Onana.

Henderson has never got a fair chance at Old Trafford and the 26-year-old must leave to play regular first team football.

In your opinion, should Man Utd meet the low asking fee to sign the experienced Odysseas Vlachodimos?
